I believed the lyrics touch the heart and melodies touch the soul. But right now as i read their words of this great song, i have such an impulsive demandrevise my personal philosophy. In deed, there are lyrics that touch the heart and the soul. This is definitely one of then.
Big ups to terry and barbi franklin. [email protected]

This song is very special to me I use to have it on cassette tape back in 2003 before we moved back to Oklahoma and now I can not remember the original composers name.

Chords

(G) Just a tiny little boy stood in (C) tears
on a (G) busy street corner what was he doing (D) here.
As he (C) tried to explain all he (G) knew was his (Em) name
and it was (A7) late and beginning to (D) rain.

(G) So I asked him about the place where he (C) lived
he (G) remembered the old church where the big cross was (D) lit
and his (C) eyes opened wide and he (G) said with a (Em) smile.
If you can (G) get me to the cross and I'll (D) find my (A7) way (G) home

CHORUS

(D) Show me the cross and I'll (C) find my way (G) home
(D) Show me the cross and I'll (C) know where to (G) go.
When I'm (G) down beneath the cross I'm (C) no longer (A7) lost
(G) show me the cross and I'll (D) find my (A7) way (G) home

G Theres a lonely old pathway I've (C) walked.
It was (G) far from familiar and I found myself (D) lost.
But I (C) remembered the place where I (G) first saw his (Em) face.
I cried Lord (G) get me to the cross and I'll (D) find my (A7) way (G) home.

Chorus

When I'm there beneath the cross I'm (C) no longer (A7) lost (G) show me the cross and I'll (D) find my (A7) way (G) home (C) Find - my - way -(G) home

Apparently this song was done by the Gold City Quartet, written by Barbi and Terry Franklin, and sheet music is now, finally, available as a digital download through musicnotes.com.
