Shay and Michi performed the song but we're not the author's. I contacted them and Shay informed me that a group traveling out GA had taught Michi the song when she was a little girl. A gentleman from Ohio actually wrote the song and the Singing Cookes recorded it. However, Michi's rendition is by far the most spirit filled and moving rendition I've ever heard.

My mom loved this song and sung it often...... last night she passed on to be with the jesus..... he told her good morning Child.

I know the tune (melody) my grandmother's group always did & that's of course how i sing it. Haven't found an actual track. The chorus above is missing a little bit. The last sentence is "Extended arms may God reach out and call you home".
