Whew! I thought I lost my copy of "Neither Do I Condemn Thee" Mine is by the great black Gospel singer, Marion Williams, from an album out of print, "Prayer Changes Things". It is so fine.

The posting from Apr 1, 2011 is apparently from "New Songs of Inspiration #7", pg 298, arr by Carol Snow and Jimmie Snow. (c) 1962, by Heartwarming Music Co.

or call me at 636-343-7460 and leave a message telling how to get in touch with you so we can make arrangements for me to get the music to you. Also, neither of the lyrics posted above are exactly like they are in the hymnal...I have scanned the pages from the hymnal but I don't know how to upload them to this page.

By a crowd of worshippers, sorry for her sins,
Was a poor wanderer, rudely brought in.
Scribes came and Pharisees, anxious to see.
What the meek Nazarenes' verdict would be.

They told of her wanderings, quoting each flaw
Spoke of her punishment, quoting the Law
Writing upon the ground, sadly and slow
But said he unheedingly head bending low

Still cried the Pharisees, "Pray, Master, pray
What shall we do with her, what do you say?"
Then said he rebukingly, "Let the first stone
Come from the sinless hands, hence and alone."

Cheeks flushing with a shame, turning about
And from his presence slowly walking out
Then saw him standing there head bending low
He who the world despised bid her sin no more,

Spoke he most tenderly, 'pray woman, pray
Have you no accusers?" "Nay, Master, nay"
"Neither do I condemn thee, soul sick and sore
So forth, I pardon thee, go and sin no more.'
-----------------------------------------------
Neither do I condemn thee, precious words divine
From the lips of mercy, like the sweetest chimes
Wonderful words of Jesus, sing them o're and o're
Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more.

I have the words like this:

NEITHER DO I CONDEMN THEE
As Sang by Jessie Enloe, 1960's

1. By the proud worshipers, scorned for her sin,
Was the poor wanderer rudely brought in;
Scribes came and Pharisees, eager to see,
What the meet Nazarene's verdict would be.

Chorus:
"Neither do I condemn thee," Precious words divine,
Falling from the lips of Mercy, like the sweetest chime;
Wonderful words of mercy, sing them o'er & o'er,
"Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more."

2. Told of her wanderings, Making each flaw,
Spoke they of punishment, Quoting the law,
But sat He unheedingly, Head bending low,
Writing upon the ground, Sadly and slow.

3. Still cried the Pharisees, pray, Master, pray,
What shall we do with her, what doest thou say?
Sat He unheedingly, head bending low,
Writing upon the ground, sadly and slow.

4. Cheek flushing red with shame, turned each about,
And from His presence went, silently out;
Then saw He standing there, head bending low,
Her whom the world despised, saw her tears flow.

5. Spake He so tenderly, "pray, woman, pray,
Hast thou accusers, none," 'Nay, Master, Nay;'
"Neither do I condemn thee, soul sick and sore,
Go, for I pardon thee, Go and sin no more."

The words to verse 2 seem to be mixed up with those from verse 3 but I have mis-placed my book with the words in it. Daniel Whittle did write a song in 1885 with the same title, but the tune is different (per cyberhymnal)

I'm looking for the lyrics to a hymn that I heard many years ago. it was from an old cassette tape and the song wasn't that plain. The words were: Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more. Thanx and God bless.
