I haven't tried any of the Primitive Quartet's versions of this song, but you can see Dr. Ralph Stanley, his son Ralph II, and others on YouTube. The one that's my favorite is the one where Dr. Ralph is dressed in black, and they're singing "If You Have Friends In Glory Land", a cappella, for a Gaither Homecoming video. Try this:

video Stanley Brothers if you have friends in gloryland

in the search box and you should find some results.

Tears of joy come every time I've watched it--my father-in-law went to be with his Lord 12-29-2014 and his sufferings are over, his pains are gone, and his works do follow him. One day we'll be together again and I know my wife can't wait to see her dad and her Heavenly Father too.

Broken, lonely, hopeless, helplessly addicted to alcohol I first listened to this song on a mountain top in southern West Virginia. I was laying across the front seat of my 1977 Ford Granda listening to WJLS country radio station when Glory-land by the Primitive Quartet started playing. I had recently went through a divorce missing my only10 year old daughter. My mother just passed away. I was homeless, and out of work. Now here I am when this song grips my inner heart, and soul like a vice grip, Warm, salty tears start running down my cheeks as I sobbed thinking of how my life became unwound. When the song ended I cried out four words that change my life forever.."GOD PLEASE HELP ME!" Within 2 months I was staying in a mission in Pine Castle, Florida when God delivered me from alcohol, tobacco, and a broken heart. That was 28 years ago November of 2014. Praise God. God isn't a respecter of persons that he won't do it for anyone. The word says "...whom the Son sets free is free indeed". I have been free for 28 wonderful years thank God. You can too! Use those four words I used "GOD PLEASE HELP ME!" He listens, and will help you like he did me. Let me say a short prayer for you. Dear God I come to you in the name of your son Jesus, and ask you to touch by the power of the Holy Spirit anyone who reads this short testimony will be transformed , delivered, and set totally free by your power, and in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Amen..

If_you_have_friends_in_Gloryland

If you have friends in Gloryland,
Who left because of pain
Thank God up there, they'll die no more
They'll suffer not again.

Then weep not friends, I'm goin' home
Up there we'll die no more
No coffins will be made up there
No graves on that bright shore

The lame will walk in Gloryland
The blind up there will see
The deaf in Gloryland will hear
The dumb will talk to me

The doctor will not have to call
The undertaker, no
There'll be no pain up there to bear

Just walk the streets of gold

We'll need no sun in Gloryland
The moon and stars won?t shine
For Christ Himself is light up there
He reigns of love divine

Then weep not friends, I'm goin' home
Up there we'll die no more
No coffins will be made up there
No graves on that bright shore

Hi Roger. I'm writing these from memory, hope they're correct.
Keith.

IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS, IN GLORY LAND.
WHO'VE LEFT BECAUSE OF PAIN.
THERE'LL BE NO PAIN, IN GLORY LAND
THEY'LL SUFFER NOT, AGAIN.

SO WEEP NOT FRIENDS, I'M GOING HOME.
UP THERE WE'LL DIE NO MORE
NO COFFINS WILL, BE MADE UP THERE
NO GRAVES ON THAT, BRIGHT SHORE.

THE LAME WILL WALK, IN GLORY LAND.
THE BLIND UP THERE WILL SEE.
THE DEAF IN GLORY LAND WILL HEAR.
THE DUMB WILL TALK, TO ME

THERE'LL BE NO SUN, IN GLORY LAND
THE MOON AND STARS WON'T SHINE
FOR CHRIST HIM SELF, IS LIGHT UP THERE
WE'LL LIVE ON LOVE, DEVINE.
