Here they are God Bless you
Saw my friend the other day and what I saw took me by surprise,
Several years had made a change I saw a tired look in his eyes;
I said I can't help but wonder, where has your young life gone.
He said I'm not getting older I'm just getting closer to home.
No I'm not getting older I'm just getting closer to home oh Lord.
How can you say I'm looking old, my soul's gonna live on and on.
And this body that you see will take on immortality and I'll be gone.
No I'm not getting older I'm just getting closer to home.
You see this wrinkles on my face represent a burden for the Lord.
And my voice is sounding hoarse from telling folks about the old rugged cross.
I've helped my brother with his load til the strength in back is gone.
But No I'm not getting older, I'm just getting closer to home.
No I'm not getting older I'm just getting closer to home oh Lord.
How can you say I'm looking old, my soul's gonna live on and on.
And this body that you see will take on immortality and I'll be gone.
No I'm not getting older I'm just getting closer to home.
