What a sad song. Separation of Church and State is an important American ideal. In history, there are no good examples of Church and State joining.
1) Protestant and Catholic kings of Europe caused such persecution that Pilgrims had to flee to the New World to find freedom.
2) In the US, the Salem Witch Trials killed innocent women.
3) In Muslim countries, Sharia law violates human rights.
4) ISIS gains power and destroys cultural heritage.

Prayer in school? Whose prayer would it be?

A Wiccan chant
A Muslim call
Who would decide which prayer is offered?

We need God in a personal way--living in our hearts, not in a corporate legal institution. Praise God we live in a country with a separation of Church and State.
