Sleep Holy Child

Some of the words to the song I am searching for are:
"The day is coming when you'll grow to be a man......"
some of the final words are "Sleep on Sweet Jesus, til the morning light.'
I guess what I am looking for is not by Peterson....it has been many years since I sang that solo.....would love to have the words and music so that I might be able to sing it at Christmas this year.
Thanks for you help [email protected]

I have also been looking for the complete lyrics to "Sleep Holy Child" for decades. I sang the "Night of Miracles" cantata with my high school choir in 1972 but I have forgotten some of the lyrics over the years. Does anyone have the lyrics to the other songs from the cantata?

Sleep holy child
born on this night
angels and mourtels bow down
at this woundress sight
who would have thought
one born so small
would grow from a child to a king
and become savior of all

CHORUS
Glory to god
give glory to god
with the host of heaven we sing
we bow down and worship
the new born king x2

two thousend years
have past and gone
yet we still remember the night
your glory shone,
nations may rise, kindoms may fall,
But the light of heaven shines on
Jesus the saviour of all!!

CHORUS

Outro
Jesus the king
bow down and worship
Jesus the king
bow down and worship
jesus the king

Whoever you are, I am forever in your debt! I didn't post the original query but have been looking for the lyrics to this for 35 years. I heard it during a Christmas concert in high school and could only remember the 'matchless is thy worth' part -

thank you SO much.

I have the music and lyrics in front of me: The lyrics are as follows:

Sleep Holy Child
For thou art safe in Heaven's keeping
Angels hover near, And they are here to guard Thy sleeping;
Shadows of the night will in the morning light be gone,
Sleep Holy Child, So meek and mild sleep on.
At Thy crib we find
Faith and hope have shined;
Beaming, their light is beaming, Gleaming to all mankind;
Sleep Holy Child,
tonight with Thee our hopes all rest,
Matchless is Thy worth,
For in Thy birth The earth is blest.
Sleep Holy Child,
Thy coming brings a brighter dawn,
Lord of life and love, from heav'n above Our fears are gone!
O holy Child,
So meek and mild
Sleep on.
