Hi Steve. Thanks for posting the words. A little history. Right after the film came out my wife and I attended a Christian camp where Pastor Jack Hayford was giving a week long teaching along with another Pastor who was a friend, Rick Howard. Pastor Hayford had seen the movie and inspired by that wrote these words. A few months later Rick Howard told us that Jack had asked permission from the copyright holders of Vangelis to use the tune and it was rejected so he asked that his words not be used due to copyright infringement. However, my wife and I still sing the lyrics in our hearts.

Here are the lyrics to a song called "Make me a chariot of fire" that I found on a couple sites.

The music, of course, was composed by Vangelis for the 1981 film "Chariots of Fire". Based on the wording and the lack of many sources about this hymn, I'd guess these are probably lyrics that were "home-grown", and then spread around to different churches and worship groups.
