hymn looking - When Jesus Comes

I heard Homer Rodeheaver introduce "When Jesus Comes the tempters power is broken in 1941 at the Humboldt Park Gospel Tab in Chicago.. He was about 70 at the time. He spoke about how Oswald Smith had written the words and had sent them to him to supply the music. He sang one verse in his gravelly, raspy voice -- too much song-leading for Billy Sunday-- played a verse on his trombone and then taught the chorus to the congregation. And I still remember it. Thank you so much I have been looking for the words and music of this song for a long time. I first heard it sung in my church when I was a youngster, but the words were so beautiful I never forgot them.

I grew up listening to this song sung by George Beverly Shea on an old 78 record. We have lost the expectation of wonder-full change when Jesus comes to us today.

I'm So Glad He Found Me

I was on a mountain,
Wandering from the Fountain,
When I heard my Savior calling me.
He said, "Come to me relenting,
And of your sins repenting;
And I will lead you out where you can see."

Chorus
And I'm so glad He found me,
In love He bound me
With His arms all around me;
And He led me to that Shelter,
And, now, I'm one of His own.
And, oh, the joy in knowing,
With hearts a glowing,
Someday, I'm going
To my home, my home in Glory,
And walk those streets paved with gold.

Now, I will love Him ever
And I'll stray from Him no never,
For He's the dearest friend I ever knew.
And when I see Him yonder,
My love will still grow fonder,
In that happy land beyond the blue.

Chorus
And I'm so glad He found me,
In love He bound me
With His arms all around me;
And He led me to that Shelter,
And, now, I'm one of His own.
And, oh, the joy in knowing,
With hearts a glowing,
Someday, I'm going
To my home, my home in Glory,
And walk those streets paved with gold.
And walk those streets paved with gold.

try hymnal.net for the music. You get the first verse played very clearly. First heard this at a Billy Graham rally (?) or was it Youth for Christ (?) in Birmingham town hall - UK in mid 1950s. Never forgotten it. Barrie
