I also found the words in the Bible. If you look up Psalm 98 versus 4 through 9. The words are very similar. It is probably where the author found the lyrics

Wow!! I would love the musical score. I also have been searching for this song for years. I sing it still. We sang it in grade school about 19 51! I still remember every word. Sister Jude played the piano! I even remember the interlude. Sister kenan led the choir! It must be anointed of god for us all to remember. It's such a long time ago. Thank you, holy spirit .Please send me music.!!!

I have the music for this triumphant song. Copyright was 1934, so it is probably in public domain. Let me know if you want a copy. it is 4 pages long. [email protected]

Hello. The hymn Praise Be to Thee O Lord can be found in the Mount Mary Hymnal. I used it many times back in the day! Here is a link to a PDF copy.

I too have been hoping to find a recording of this hymn. Perhaps it was recorded long ago and is long out of print. My 1965 grade school class sang it at our graduation.

Thank you, Nancy

I do appreciate more of the lyrics
and your personal input
The Internet is a wonderful tool
to search out these songs from our youth.

Lord bless you
Nancy

i have been looking for this since high school graduation (1951) I think I have all the words written down, but I thought maybe it was my imagination since no one knew what I was talking about. If anyone cares, some of the rest is: Sing joyfully to the Lord Our King. Let the sea be moved and the fullness thereof. The mountains shall rejoice in the glory of our King. Sing and rejoice. Sing and give praise. Sing ye, rejoice, and give praise. I have more written down, but not sure where it is after all these years. Thanks for this page.

Hi Gidge Cole,

I could not find a recording but I found these lyrics here:
http://jmjsite.com/hymn-christtheking.pdf
( Scroll to K3 - Praise Be To Thee, O Lord - 94M.M. )
Are these the lyrics you remember?

PRAISE BE TO THEE, O LORD

Praise be to thee O Lord,
King of Glory everlasting.
The Lord doth reign
Let the earth rejoice.

Sing joyfully unto the Lord our King
Let the sea be moved and the fulness thereof
The mountains shall rejoice at presence of the Lord
Sing joyfully to God all the earth
Sing, rejoice and give praise

Chorus
Sing and rejoice. Sing and give praise
Sing upon His starry throne. Praise ye Him
Praise bee to Thee O Lord King of glory everlasting
Amen. Amen

What is the name of this hymn and where can I listen to it?

Praise be to thee O Lord,
King of Glory everlasting.
The Lord doth reign
Let the earth rejoice.

That's all I remember. It is a beautiful hymn sung by the choir of our grade school Catholic church.
