I can't find the song on any streaming service but I do remember the lyrics

Grandma was a teacher
when I went to sunday school
so many years ago
but still I remember
her patience and love shining through
and still I wonder what she saw at the crossing
standing between life and death
but there was a smile on her face
when she took her last breath

so how did it feel when they finally made it home
though the battles not over some of our soldiers have won
for all the trouble and care that this lifetime will share
it's over for them and it's done
we'll meet them again when we finally make it home

Gradad a preacher who pointed the way to the cross
just like a shepherd looking after his sheep
searching to find all the lost
so often he talked about heaven
how one day it would be his home
still it is hard to believe
that he's already gone

So I found the album online and bought it. I was close...

He was a preacher who pointed the way to the cross
just like a shepherd tending after his sheep
searching to find all the lost
so often he talked about heaven
how one day it would be his home
sometimes it is hard to believe that he's already gone
Grandma was a teacher
when I went to sunday school
so many years ago
but still I remember
her patience and love shining through
sometimes I wonder what she saw at the crossing
standing between life and death
'cause there was a smile on her face
when she took her last breath

so how did it feel when they finally made it home
though the battles not over some of our soldiers have won
for all the trouble and care that this lifetime will share
it's over for them and it's done
so how did it feel when we finally make it home

He was a king who traded everything for a cross
for the soul of a sinner his blood flowed like a river
but he never counted the cost
since then through the ages the battle still rages
and old friends leave one by one
we'll meet them again when we finally make it home
