Looking for a patriotic hymn - it has always been the soldier who has made the sacrifice

I'm looking for a certain patriotic hymn. The chorus starts out "it has always been the soldier who has made the sacrifice". I heard it on the radio so I don't know the correct title or who sings it (though it sounds like the Inspirations). Can someone identify it?
