Rise morning sun arising

This is the first line. I don't even know if it is an actual hymn, but I heard it on a TV program, sung by some random village choir, and it's now stuck in my head ... classic ear worm!

"rise morning sun arising
rise morning sun arising
day is breaking
in my soul.

Any ideas?

Hi Eddy
I think this is it. I'll post the lyrics if it is.
If not, we'll keep searching

Thanks for that.

Not exactly the words I've heard, It is one I had looked at earlier, but just seemed different enough ... but enough similarity that it could just have been the choralists taking some license.

Hi Eddy

It is a traditional Appalachian song so yes, there are numerous renditions
you might have seen them on Youtube
Here's one I enjoyed

I think I just heard this on Grand Designs, which is British.
