......THIS MAY BE SOME OF THE WORD IF IT IS THE RIGHT SONG...I MAY REMEMBER 2ND VERY LATER BUT CAN'T AT THIS MOMENT.

I believe the second verse goes:

I've been singing this song for over 30 years now; I know the author of the song personally; in correction to the version listed..it was originally penned
