Intervarsity 1971 song - Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength

Post by laura lynn » Fri Jul 05, 2019 12:24 pm

I am searching for full lyrics/chords to a song we sang in Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship in 1971.
It had a Spanish beat to it.

Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength,
They shall mount up like eagles on wings of great length.
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint,
He gives strength to the weary and po-wer to His saints.

I am looking for who wrote this song. I was in a Invervarsity Chapter in 1971 in Pasadena, CA where we sang this song.
It would be great to find the composer of this song and get a modern recording.

The lyrics to the song are;

Chorus:
Those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up like eagles
With wings of great strength.
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faith.
He gives strength to the weary
And power to HIs saints.

Oh, there was a man name Moses
He came from Israel's race.
When the Lord told him to do a job,
He did it in great faith.
He traveled 40 years
In the wilderness with his kins.
He brought them to the Promised Land
With the Lord guiding him.

Oh, there were three men in Scriptures,
These men that we all know.
They were thrown into a fire
'Cause they would not bow low.
Shadrach wasn't burned,
Nor Meshach, nor Abednego.
For their faith was so strong
That the Lord His power did show.

Oh there was a Son named Jesus,
The Son of God and man.
He fasted 40 days and nights
And wandered through the land.
He was tempted by the devil
Of all the riches that there are,
But His only reply was Scripture
And the devil spake no more.
