I'm winging my way back home

Hi , we sing this song in church all the time. I was seriously wondering if anyone knows to the part where it says--"I'm winging my way back home"? I love this song and I understand the rest of it but that part I don't understand. Love-God Bless--Sissy

It means that he has gotten save and that he wants to get as close to God
as quickly as possible.
Example: when someone has been lost far away from the father and he has
finally found his way back ,he is doing all he can to get there,back in God presence as quickly as possible.

One could assume several scriptural references for that line. Jesus said his burdens were light/ the dead in Christ are gonna rise/Ex 19:4 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself/Ps 55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest./Ps 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Maybe just a way of saying your leaving the world behind and going to the Lord.

Oh ok thanks very much. That word "winging I guess is what was getting me lol". All the other verses though I love so much especially the one that say "since Jesus is mine". Love and God Bless to you all--Sissy
