I've been trying to locate the lyrics and composer for the old gospel song called "Until Then." Have been unable to locate it on any site I've searched so far.

Can anyone help me locate it?

Hi Nelaray,

Here's what I could dig up, words and lyrics by Stuart Hamblen.

1.
My heart can sing when I pause to remember,
A heartache here is but a stepping stone.
Along a trail, thats winding always upward,
this troubled world, is not my final home.

Refrain
But until then, my heart will go on singing,
Until then, with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.

2.
The things of earth will dim and loose there value,
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remember there, will only bring a smile.

I found it on this site:

Hope this is the one!

God bless,
Steve

This is the third verse to this song
3
This weary world with all its toil and struggle,
May take it's toll of misery and strife;
The soul of man is like a waiting falcon,
When it's released it's destined for the skies.
chorus;
But until then,my heart will go on singing
Until with joy I'll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold that city
Until the day God calls me home

I'm trying to find out the story behind "Until Then" by Stuart Hamblen. My family and I are to sing the hymn this coming Sunday for Father's Day. I sure would appreciate the information. Thank you and God bless you.

Stuart has now died, but his wife has a website. You might be able to ask her the story behind the song. It is http://members.aol.com/shpasos/

God bless

Stuart Hamblen was saved at a Billy Graham crusade . i understand he was an alcoholic that gave his heart to Jesus . he wrote "It Is no Secret" also. Go to youtube and listen to these two songs . he wrote several before he died.

He was a close friend of John Wayne (he worked in Hollywood). It is believed that he led John Wayne to Christ.
