I remember the yellow anthem collection and singing the "Part the Waters, Lord" at a choir camp at Camp Carson, Newport, TN, in the early 70s. The guest choral director that summer was the composer Dr. Philip Landgrave. I'm pretty sure he composed the music to those words in that anthem collection, and may have written them, but I'm not certain.

What is the law regarding copyright and "out-of-print" publications? I have several old books of Christian songs from the 70's and would have no problem scanning and sharing, but do not want to land in jail for copyright infringement.

I am so blessed to hear this song again . Like most of you I heard this song when I was a teenager. For some reasons this week the lyrics of the chorus came to mind . Thus I searched it online. Mr Charles Brown thank you that you listened to the Holy Spirit and wrote this song. I am learning the song as I can relate to it.

When I think I'm going under, part the waters, Lord.
When I feel the waves around me, calm the sea.
When I cry for help, O hear me, Lord, and hold out Your hand.
Touch my life, still the raging storm in me.

Knowing You love me through the burden I must bear,
Hearing Your footsteps lets me know I'm in Your care,
And in the night of my life You bring the promise of day,
Here is my hand, show me the way.

Knowing You love me helps me face another day.
Hearing Your footsteps drives the clouds and fear away;
And in the tears of my life I see the sorrow You bore,
Here is my pain, heal it once more.

When I think I'm going under, part the waters, Lord.
When I feel the waves around me, calm the sea.
When I cry for help, O hear me, Lord, and hold out Your hand.
Touch my life, still the raging storm in me.

I remember coming across a choral version of this song.. it must be maranatha singers if memory serves me right. Its sad that Im not able to find that version anywhere now.
