I know the song you're talking about. I have a few words of the verses but I don't know if I am leaving something out.

That sounds like the song I have been looking for. The Drew kids, 2 sisters and one brother, Vance, sang it in church in 1957-58 in Queen Creek, Arizona. I have sang the chorus ever since but never knew the rest of it. Thank you very much.
