Please help I can not find the verses but the chorus goes like this:
Oh, no the old story will never grow old. How Jesus died to save my soul. Oh, no the old story will never grow old. That story will never grow.

1) I went to church one lonely night, I sat way back for my soul was not right, the preacher was preaching how Jesus died, for a sin filled world he gave up his life.
2) I went to the altar and knelt down in prayer, Lord please have mercy then he pardoned me there, he lifted my burden brought peace to my soul, what made my life new was a story so old.
3) Many years have passed by since I found the Lord but I remember that night when the story was told, time has no hold on the message it brings, though the story is old well it's still blessing me.

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old
How Jesus died to save my soul!
Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -
That story will never grow old.

I went to church one lonely night
And I sat way back, for my soul was not right.
The preacher was preachin' how Jesus died -
For a sin filled world, He gave up His life.

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old
How Jesus died to save my soul!
Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -
That story will never grow old.

I went to the altar and I knelt down in prayer;
I cried, "Lord, have mercy" and He pardoned me there.
And then He lifted my burden, brought peace to my soul
And what made my life new was this story so old.

Many years have passed by since I found the Lord.
I remember that night when the story was told
I had no hope - Oh, the message it brings!
That story is old but is still blesses me

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old
How Jesus died to save my soul!
Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -
That story will never grow old.

The Old Story

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old

How Jesus died to save my soul!

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -

That story will never grow old.

I went to church one lonely night

Well I sat way back, for my soul was not right.

The preacher was preachin' how Jesus died -

For a sin filled world, He gave up His life.

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old

How Jesus died to save my soul!

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -

That story will never grow old.

I went to the altar; I knelt down in prayer;

"Lord, please have mercy" and He pardoned me there.

Oh He lifted my burdens, brought peace to my soul

And what made my life new was this story so old.

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old

How Jesus died to save my soul!

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -

That story will never grow old.

Many years have passed by since I found the Lord.

But I remember that night when the story was told

Time has no hold - Oh, the message it brings!

Why that story is old but is still blessing me

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old

How Jesus died to save my soul!

Oh, no, the old story will never grow old -

That story will never grow old.

I meant to put Time has no hold on the message it brings. Not Oh the message.

You can google Jackie Wilburn singing this - what a blessing he was to me and my family and our church.
