Help with a song called "Child Come Home"

I have been looking for years for this song can anyone help? Some of the lyrics are "Child come home, Jesus loves you....It doesn't matter where you've been"
I don't remember anything in the middle but the end lyrics are "You've been gone for much too long, Child come home". I remember listening to this song back in the late 80s early 90s but can't seem to recall, nor find by internet search, the artist name or song. No matter where youve been. no matter what youve done. iam standing here, with open arms. child come home . i heard a small church band sing that one. i thought they wtote it. it was at the church of christ in orange county mississippi. the pastors kids had a bunch of great one and made lots of cd's
