The King and the beggar

Post by music4540 » Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:10 am

I am looking for the words for a song. The chorus goes something like this:
"Then the king looked at the beggar,
And He said, You've been set free,
Your sins are all forgiven, now You're born in royalty.
Then the King and the beggar walked on arm in arm, you see,
That King was Jesus, and the beggar was me."
Thanks for any help you can give. Also, if you know who sang the song, I'd love to find the recording.

The King and the beggar

Hope this helps....

A King met a beggar on a lonely road one day
A strange occurance took place as you will see
The beggar fell upon his knees and cried "Oh pardon me
I am unworthy in Thy presence to be"

Chorus:
"Then the king looked at the beggar,
And He said, You've been set free,
Your sins are all forgiven, now You're born in royalty.
Then the King and the beggar walked on arm in arm, you see,
That King was Jesus, and the beggar was me."

He who was rich became so poor that a beggar rich might be
The Son of God became the son of man
That people called the the sons of man the sons of God might be
I can't explain it, God's wonderous saving plan
Chorus

If I am not mistaken, this song was recorded by Lester Roloff or one of the groups or singers associated with his ministry.

This song was originally recorded in the late 70's or early 90's by God's Brady Bunch. The name of the album is "As for Me and My House (We'll Serve the Lord)"

If anyone can find it on Vinyl or Tape (or better cd or mp3) please post back. I have been looking for it off and on for years.

One of my favorite songs...I went to a Christian high school and the pastor and his wife used to sing it as a duet. I hadn't thought about it in years. I would love to be able to hear it again!

I'm looking for the person who sings this song and it's called: "Look away mama." I don't know the whole words but I do know that it has these words in it: "Look away mama don't you cry, for the son of men (or God) was born ot die." Please tell me who sings it if you know
