I'll Take Jesus
(author unknown at this time)

As they gambled for the robe He wore

They chose a worldly trail

And they didn't think of eternity

As the soldiers drove the nails

Will we learn from what they done

Or make the same mistake

Jesus or the world my child

Which one will you take

Chorus

I'll take Jesus, I'll take Jesus

I tried these worldly pleasures and they failed

When you see the gates of Heaven

And you hear the Master say

Me or the world my child

Which one did you take

When the pages of my life have turned

And time has rolled away

The greatest deeds that I have done

Won't help me on that day

And all my earthly treasures

That I have laid away

They'll be to me just a memory

And this you'll hear me say

Repeat Chorus, tag with:

When you see the gates of Heaven

And you hear the Master say

Me or the world my child

Which one did you take

I'll take Je-----sus

I'll take Jesus

As they gambled for the robe he wore they chose a worldly trail and they didn't think of eternity as the soldier drove the nail, will we learn by what they've done or make the same mistake Jesus or the world my friend which one will you take

I'll take Jesus, I''ll take Jesus, well I've tried those earthly pleasures and they've failed and when we see the gates of heaven we'll hear the master say me or the world my child which one did you take

As the pages of my life are turned and my time has rolled away the greatest deeds that I have done they won't help me on that day and all my earthly treasures that I have laid away they'll be to me just memories and they you'll hear me say

I'll take Jesus, I'll take Jesus, well I've tried those earthly treasures and they've failed and when you see the gates of heaven you'll hear the master say me or the world my child which one did you take

"I'll Take Jesus"
This was originaly recorded by "The Scenic Land Boys" in the 70's
It was at the top of the Singing News Charts
However I have not been able to find there name and the song together on the internet

I'll Take Jesus
(author unknown at this time sung by The Scenic Land Boys)

As they gambled for the robe He wore

They chose a worldly trail

And they didn't think of eternity

As the soldiers drove the nails

Will we learn from what they done

Or make the same mistake

Jesus or the world my child

Which one will you take

Chorus

I'll take Jesus, I'll take Jesus

I tried these worldly pleasures and they failed

When you see the gates of Heaven

And you hear the Master say

Me or the world my child

Which one did you take

When the pages of my life have turned

And time has rolled away

The greatest deeds that I have done

Won't help me on that day

And all my earthly treasures

That I have laid away

They'll be to me just a memory

And this you'll hear me say

Repeat Chorus, tag with:

When you see the gates of Heaven

And you hear the Master say

Me or the world my child

Which one did you take

I'll take Je-----sus

The Crabb Family did it on an album in the 90's that had Please Forgive Me and One More River on it. It was one of their very first projects
