I'm looking for the words/ music - I'm Going Home to be with my Lord

Post by Guestt2 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 3:08 pm

I only remember the chorus and the song is a duet sang by a man and woman:
I'm going home, to be with my Lord
Home, I'll receive my reward
Heaven is waiting for me, and it's Jesus I'm longing to see
I'm going home.I heard it back in the early 90's. Sound like Black gospel singers.

Can someone please help?

No, it's on Brooklyn Tabernacle's CD or tape titled How Jesus Loves. It's called I'm Going Home and it was sung by Alvin Slaughter and Becky Garcia, released circa 1987? I'm sure if you purchase the sheet music from Brooklyn Tabernacle you will find the lyrics.

Lyrics
People trying to hold on to what's here
People worry they wrestle with their fear
But where I'm going my peace and joy will be
In that city my home waits for me

Chorus
I'm going home just to be with my Lord
I'm going home. I'll receive my reward
Heaven is waiting for me
and it's Jesus I'm longing to see
I'm going home

People searching for what they can not find
People hoping for peace in troubled times
But where I'm going God's glory I will see
His sure promise, a home prepared for me

Chorus

No more heartaches and no more pain
'Cause I'll be with Him and with Him I'll reign
Then in Glory, His face I'll see
The One who died for me
