Lyrics and Title - I'm going there to meet my Savior

I am looking for the title and words to what I think is an old Negro spiritual. Part of the hymn goes, "I'm going there to meet my Savior; I'm going there no more to roam."

Lyrics and Title - I'm going there to meet my Savior

Hi Guest :)

The words are from the spiritual called "Wayfaring Stranger". You can do a Google search for those words to find different versions (there are many, each worded slightly differently).

Here's one version:

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger
A travel'n through this world of woe.
But there's no sickness, no toil nor danger
In that bright world to which I go.

Refrain
I'm goin' there to see my father;
I'm goin' there no more to roam.
I'm just a-goin' over Jordan,
I'm just a-goin' over home.

I know dark clouds will gather 'round me,
I know my way is rough and steep;
But golden fields lay just before me,
Where God's redeemed no more shall weep.

Refrain
I'm goin' there to see my mother;
I'm goin' there no more to roam.
I'm just a-goin' over Jordan,
I'm just a-goin' over home.

I want to sing salvation's story,
In concert with the blood-washed band;
I want to wear a crown of glory,
When I get home to that good land.

Refrain
I'm goin' home to see my Savior;
Who shed for me His precious blood;
I'm just a-goin' o'er Jordan,
I'm just a-goin' o'er home.
I'm just a-goin' o'er home.
I'm goin' home.

Lyrics and Title - I'm going there to meet my Savior

Here's a version I found. Hope it's the one!

Treasures On the Other Side

1
A mansion and a shining crown are waiting there for me
My friends and my loved ones there with my own eyes I'll see
Once that I'm safely helped across the swelling tide
That's my treasures waiting on the other side

2
A pilgrim meet a stranger here who's journeyed here before
Seen a side of heaven I'm so happy as I go
The world may think me poor and pass me by with scornful pride
They don't know our treasures on the other side

Chorus
On the other side, treasures there have I
Treasures that this world and all its wealth could never buy
When I reach that city and the gates wing open wide
Find my treasures waiting on the other side

3
You'll wonder why I'm happy in the things of which I've hold
Saying goodbye to this world and the things that charm me most
Had a vision of my Lord, who for me bled and died
And that's my greatest treasure on the other side

Chorus

God bless!

I actually recorded this song as a duet with a Hammered Dulcimer and an acoustic guitar. If you would like a copy you can post your email address here and I will send it to you.
