Lyrics "New songs we have by thousands"

Post by sewnsewnan » Wed Sep 14, 2011 5:51 pm

I do not know the title or author of this song.
This is how the song starts out. I believe it might be a medley.
"New songs we have by thousand, new tunes we have galore
There's music by the mile and mile and still we ask for more...."
I would appreciate it if someone has the lyrics to the rest of the song or could lead me in the right direction.
God Bless

New songs we have by thousands, new tunes we have galore
there's music here mile after mile, and yet we still want more.
and as i've heard them played and sung, my feelings you should know
they do not suit my taste so well as the songs of long ago

I love the old songs, the old fashioned songs, they cheer me and help me along
between you and me, wherever I may be, there are none like the old fashioned songs.

There's Jesus lover of my soul, I need the every hour, and rock of ages cleft for me
Oh, Lord, now send the power.Come Holy ghost with power divine, let angels prostrate fall,
Bring forth the royal diadem and crown him Lord of all.

I love the old songs ........

NEW SONGS WE HAVE BY THOUSANDS

New songs we have by thousands, new tunes we have galore
There's music by the mile and mile, and yet we still want more
And as I hear them played and sung,
My feelings you should know
That none may suit my taste as well as the songs of long ago.

There's Jesus, Lover of my Soul, I need Thee every Hour
And Rock of Ages, cleft for me, O Lord, now send the power.
Come, Holy Ghost, with light divine, Nearer my God to Thee
Faith of our Fathers, living still, dear Lord remember me

The old account is settled now, He took my sins away
Washed in the Blood, Oh yes, I know, this is the crowning day
Majestic Sweetness sits enthroned, He's coming back again
Changed in the Twinkling of an eye, then We Shall See the King

And when on Jordan's banks I Stand, and view the landscape o'er
Above the rest this note shall swell, Redeemed forevermore
All hail the power of Jesus' name, let angels prostrate fall
Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of All.

The Old-Fashion Songs

New songs we have by thousands
New tunes we have galore
There's music by the mile & mile
And yet we still want more.
And as I've heard them played & sung
My feelings you should know
They do not suit my taste as well
As the songs of long ago.

I love the old songs, the old-fashion songs
They cheer me & help me along
Between you & me wherever I be
There are none like the old fashion songs.

There's Jesus, Lover of my Soul,
I Need Thee Every Hour
And Rock of Ages cleft for me
Oh, Lord Now Send the Power
Come Holy Ghost with Light Divine
Nearer My God to Thee
Faith of our Fathers living still
Dear Lord, Remember Me.

And when on Jordan's banks I stand
And view the landscape o'er
Above the earth these notes shall swell
Redeemed Forevermore
All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name
Let Angels Prostrate Fall
Bring Forth the Royal Diadem
And Crown Him Lord of All!
