I come from a Baptist, southern, country, mostly African-American church and I really want to know the name of the song, so I can find it now, from the baptisms of my youth. They'd play "Wade in the Water" when you were baptized and then at the end of the service when you joined the church everyone would come by and embrace you and they'd sing this welcome song that was like - "And the church is gonna make you welcome, welcome, welcome. And the church is gonna make you welcome till your dyin day. Singin Oh Glory. Ohh glory. Ohhh glory. Til your dyin' day."Âť Does anyone know what I'm talking about and more importantly the name of the song or someplace I could download it?

I came looking for the words because something tells me my church is singing the wrong lyrics because it doesn't make sense. Growing up we just sing what we hear others sing but when you become an adult you realize, wait that doesn't make sense. Lol. Our church is saying:

....well the members want to make you welcome, welcome, welcome..... to that DYING land. 🙄

Y’all saying till that dying day, I always thought they were saying “to that Zion land”

We sang it this way:

The pastor’s gonna make you welcome, welcome, welcome
The pastor’s gonna make you welcome, welcome, welcome
To that Zion land
Singing…oh glory, oh glory
Singing, oh glory, oh glory
To that Zion land

Then it repeats that pattern , the preachers gonna make you…deacons gonna make you…members gonna make you…etc.
