Songs about country churches

Do you have these two?

This one was written by J.W. VAUGHN in 1933

There's a place dear to me where I'm longing to be
With my friends at the old country church
There with mother we went, and our Sundays were spent
With my friends at the old country church

Precious years precious years, sweet memory
Oh what joy they bring to me
How I long once more to be
With my friends at the old country church

As a small country boy, how my heart beat with joy
As I knelt at the old country church
There with Jesus above in his wonderful love
Saved my soul at the old country church

How I wish that today all the people would pray
As they did at the old country church
If they'd only confess, Jesus surely would bless
As he did at the old country church

Here is one that is not old but in the old style
by Larry Norman:

Last Sunday there was preaching, we all went out to hear
The little church was crowded, the rich and poor were there.
It was a splendid sermon, the singing full and free.

Country church, country people
With their eyes upon the Lord
Built a church with a steeple
As a place to hear His word.
You can live and die in the same small town
But the Lord spreads his love all around.

The choir was dressed in glory, their voices dressed in love
The music told the story of God who sent his son
How Jesus came from heaven to set the sinner free

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see.

The choir was finished singing and the congregation stood
While the Spirit touched and filled them with power, love and good
From God who reigns in heaven always watching every man
And guiding all his children with his kind protecting hand.

Country church, country people
With their eyes upon the Lord
Built a church with a steeple
As a place to hear His word.
You can live and die in the same small town
But the Lord spreads his love all around.

Here is a youtube of the music

Little Wooden Church On The Hill
It was in, my childhood, many years ago, with the spirit of the Savior, I was filled,
At an old fashion meeting, my memory lingers still,
In that little old wooden church, out on the hill.
Every Sunday morning, we had our family prayer,
Then in that country wagon we would be,
Then we'd start out on our journey, over rocks and over reels,
To that little old wooden church out on the hill

You could hear the people singing, about a half a mile away,
And your heart begins to get that sudden thrill,
It would start your body moving, till you couldn't keep it still,
In that little old wooden church out on the hill.

Many folk have passed and many folk have gone
But that sweet old golden memory lingers still,
I'm gonna keep that holy spirit, till death my body chills,
I got in that wooden church, out on that hill.
Then when that old fashion preacher gave out a metered hymn
The crowd with the Holy Ghost was filled
People would be shouting thank God I can hear them still
In that little wooden church out on the hill

Well there were no fine dressed people just plain folk everywhere.
With them plain ole fashioned ruffles, frocks and frills.
They had no form or fashion just plain ole spirit filled.
In that little wooden church out on the hill

THE LITTLE WHITE CHURCH
[G] There's a Little White Church in the valley
That [C] stands in my memory each [G] day
And it seems I can hear the bells ringing
[A7] Though I am many miles a-[D7] way
[G] And many times on Sunday morning
[C] The whole countryside would gather [G] there
They would all kneel down by the altar
As they lifted [D7] up their voice in [G] prayer.

[G] Oh, the Church in the valley; [C] Little White Church
Is a [G] place that I love [D7] so well
Now I'm [G] sad and lonely, yes, I'm [C] sad and lonely
For that [G] Little White [D7] Church in the [G] dell.

They would sing the old song, 'Rock of Ages'
Oh! Christ, let me hide myself in thee
And I know some of them are now waiting
Just over the dark and stormy sea
I know that their troubles all are ended
And happy forever they shall be
They are waiting and watching up yonder
For the coming home of you and me.

Her's what I got so far from YouTube
Enjoy
God Bless
