More Of You

There's an old chorus that I'm wondering if it has any verses to it.

More of you, more of you
I've had all but what I need is just more of you
Of things I've had my fill and yet I hunger still
Empty and bare, Lord, hear my prayer for more of you

I know the chorus too, but not any verses. I have heard it sung by Cloverdale Bibleway www.bibleway.org but I think they only sing the chorus. You could ask them at [email protected]

Hi, Guest do you remember any of the verses? Perhaps your song leader would know. Send my regards to Jo Mounter!

More Of You

I have searched all around, in the husks that abound,
but I find no nourishment there. Now my strengths
almost gone and I feel the pull of despair.

But my thirst drives me on, as I stumble along over
ground so barren and dry. But the streams just ahead,
living water, Lord fill me I cry.

More of you, more of you.
I've had all but what I need, just
more of you.
Of things I've had my fill.
And yet, I hunger still,
Empty and bare. Lord here my prayer.
For more of YOU.

Anyone know the author/artist who recorded this? Our choir sang it in the 70's, and I think I heard it on gosple radio. Lanny Wolfe? Bill Gaither? One of those, I believe.

I think this is a Lanny Wolfe song.

I'm not trying to find just some new frame of mind
That will change my old point of view
For I've been through it all deep inside nothing's changed, I'm not new
I'm not seeking a gift or emotional lift but one thing I'm longing to do
Is to lift up my cup and let you fill it up with just you.

More of you -- more of you
I've had all but what I need - just more of you
Of things I've had my fill and yet I hunger still
Empty and bare, Lord hear my prayer for more of you.

I have searched all around in the husks that abound
But I find no nourisment there
Now my strength's almost gone and I feel the pull of despair
Yet my thrst drives me on and I stumble along
Over ground so barren and dry
For the spring's just ahead, Living Water, Lord, fill me I cry.

thanks kellykay for the lyrics to More of You. It's an old song I used to sing as a special when I was a teenager. It came to mind the other night at prayer meeting. Blessings to you!

I believe this song was written by Gary Paxton, and Bill & Gloria Gaither. I have not yet found the words to the 1st verse, but here is what I have so far, gleaned from various sites on the Net:

MORE OF YOU (1977) Key: Bb CCLI # 15111
W by Gary Paxton, Bill & Gloria Gaither Music by Bill Gaither

1. Like the woman at the well I was seeking, For what I did not know;

Chorus:
More of you, more of you.
I've had it all but what I need, just more of you.
Of things I've had my fill. And yet, I hunger still,
Empty and bare; Lord hear my prayer, For more of You.

2. I'm not trying to find just some new frame of mind
That will change my old point of view
For I've been through it all, deep inside nothing's changed, I'm not new,
I'm not seeking a gift or emotional lift but one thing I'm longing to do,
Is to lift up my cup and let you fill it up, with just you.

3. I have searched all around, in the husks that abound,
but I find no nourishment there.
Now my strength's almost gone and I feel the pull of despair.
But my thirst drives me on, as I stumble along,
over ground so barren and dry.
But the streams just ahead, living water, 'Lord fill me.' I cry.
