What a way to go

Post by dkmv2006 » Tue Mar 31, 2009 1:31 pm

The Bible tells
of a prophet
who obeyed God's command
he accepted every challenge
no matter how loud Satan roared
and when it came his time for leaving
he didn't just lay there and die
but he proved once again that
the devil was defeated
when he was carried in a chariot of fire

what a way to go
what a way to go
red carpet is rolled out
down the streets of gold
what a way to go

can someone please help me find the rest of the words to this song.
it's an old one and I may not have these words right but
just an idea of how it went. thanks in advance.

What A Way To Go
written by John Reinhardt

The Bible tells us of a prophet
who walked in power from the Lord
He accepted every challenge
No matter how loud Satan roared
And when it came his time for leaving
Elijah didn't lay down and die
He proved once again Satan is defeated
As he was swept away on a chariot of fire

What a way to go
What a way to go
Escorted by angels right through heaven's door
What a way to go

What a way to go
What a way to go
Red carpet is rolled out
Right to streets of gold
What a way to go

As the dear old saint lies on her death bed
Her strength is almost gone
With all the family gathered around her
She says I'm leaving here but not alone
I see a great host of angels
My Lord, they're coming to take me home
And as she closed her eyes, they swept her away
What a way to go!

(Tag on second chorus)
And when that last trumpet sounds
We're gonna leave the ground
Rising through the clouds where
We'll meet him in the air
(repeat chorus)

I am looking for an accompaniment track for "What a Way to Go". The last time I sang it, my track was on cassette (long since gone.) I would like it again. My children want to hear me sing it again.

Any idea where I can find it. I've already contacted Janice Reinhart Waltz and she doesn't have a copy.

Does anyone have the chords to this song? After much searching I learned the only way to get a performance track is to buy a master at $350!!! That is way out of my price range. If I can get the chords, I might - might - be able to get someone to play it for me, maybe.

Thanks.
