....sinner has come home?

Post by sojoman » Mon Feb 25, 2013 5:27 am

I've heard this on the radio and it is really somber music...something to the effect of "angels in heaven (reioice?), sinner has come home...." I've looked up some, but they all don't sound like the one I heard. It's not Joy in the Camp, I don't think

Thank you
Solomon

BTW, when I heard it, it sounded like a chorale, higher pitched.

On which radio station did you hear it?
Have you tried calling and
asking them to identify this song?

I gotta laugh because I'm thinking there is a whole new crew there by now : )
It was just my first thought, I assumed you had just heard it.
So now on to finding it ... Have you got anymore bits of info to go on?

I remember the music, but maybe I misheard the words?
Joy In The Presence Of The Angels (A Sinner Has Come Home)?

Thank you

Would it be New Name In Glory?

Chorus
Theres a new name written down in glory
And it's mine, O yes it's mine,
And the white robed angels sing the story
A Sinner has come home

For there's a new name written down in glory
And it's mine, O Yes it's mine
With my sins forgiven I am bound for heaven,
never more to roam

When looking for Joy In The Presence Of The Angels
I found this: http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/a/n/g/angeljoy.htm

There is joy among the angels,
When the children seek the fold;
How they tune their harps and voices,
Gathered 'round the gates of gold.

Refrain
Then to Jesus come away;
Hear Him kindly, gently say,
"Suffer all the little children,
Bid them come to Me today."

There is joy among the angels,
When a soul by sin oppressed,
To the Savior turns repenting,
And receives the promised rest.

Refrain

There is joy among the angels,
As they bear the news to Heaven,
Of a child on earth rejoicing,
O'er the bliss of sins forgiven.

How about...
(don't remember the very first part). for down the road I see a soul, it's a sinner comin home. Come on, lets go to meet him and welcome him back home. and tell him how we missed him and prayed for his return. (somethin like this)

Shout Hallelujah, a soul has been redeemed. Shout Hallelujah, a sinner has come home. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. That reached for one lost fallen soul that now has been set free. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hal le lu jah!

I see my Father standing with outstretched arms to meet, sayin bring the robe, the rings, put shoes upon his feet. Go kill the fatted calf you find and rejoice along with me. My son who once was lost is found, was blind but now can see.

Could this be it? I am only sure of the last line and it was done in the somber, old negro spiritual style.

There's joy in the camp, a sinner has come home,
There's joy in the camp, rejoicing 'round the throne,
Singin' and shoutin' the great redemption song;
-->> THERE IS JOY, JOY, JOY IN HEAVEN TODAY <<--
