"Keep looking Beyond"

Post by Shawn » Mon Oct 18, 2010 11:12 pm

I'm looking for the Words to "Keep looking Beyond". Here is the Chorus:

Keep looking beyond troubles and strife all of the cares of everyday life Keep looking beyond all of the greef, suffering, and woe, Keep looking for Heaven the Home of the Soul Where we shall live and never grow old, One day we'll walk on streets of pure Gold, Keep looking beyond.

Thanks for your help!!! :)

"Keep looking Beyond"

When storms of life around me roll, seas just seem to flood ore my soul
I want to run but there's no place to go, I keep looking beyond
In the enemies pit I am cast in, into a mire up to my chin
Satan says why don't you give in, I keep looking beyond.

Keep looking beyond troubles and strife, all of the cares of everyday life
Keep looking beyond all of this grief, suffering and woe.
Keep looking toward Heaven the home of the soul
Where we shall live and never grow old
Some day we shall walk on the streets of pure gold
Keep looking beyond.

Friends there are trials through which you may go
Many a trouble may trouble your soul
But if in your heart your ready to go, keep looking beyond.
Soon he is coming for you and for me, and we shall cross life's mystical sea
So keep your armour on and be ready to leave, keep looking beyond.

I don't know his name but I know the story of the man who wrote this song. His wife and daughter were killed in a car accident. While he was attending their funeral his house burned to the ground. After that he sit down and wrote this song. I heard this from our pastor at church.

The author of the song is John North of the Redeemed Qt and pastor of Spires Chapel in Rogersville, Tn . He wrote the song after his little 3 year old girl drown in their backyard pool.

Hi Shawn, all guests and especially Sally

I am intrigued that there is nothing straightforward coming up in my search.
I did find an amateur recording https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6x0Q79yRSA
The guitarist is Mike Mullins. He is in the gospel group New Harvest Brothers
I am chasing a couple of leads and if anything pans out I will post the results.

UPDATE:
When I communicated with Mike Mullins he had also heard it was Rev John North of Spires Chapel Baptist Church who wrote Keep Looking Beyond
Over the past couple of weeks I have e-mailed http://www.spireschapel.com and called the church (423) 272-9116 several times
but alas they haven't responded to the e-mail and don't have an answering machine.

Rev. John North did write the song after losing his daughter, Missy. John is a wonderful preacher. Love his family dearly.
