On the darkest side of the road where the sick and wounded lie

These are all the lyrics I found so far

On the darkest side of the road, where the sick and wounded lie;
They're calling for help and for mercy Oh how can you pass them bye?
The Savior asks your life In the service of want and pain,
And everything more that thou spendest He'll repay when He comes again.

I learned this song as a boy in the 1950's. My parents were both clergy inthe Holiness tradition, and yes, it would be sung in a "missionary service", where offerings were being taken and pledges taken for service in what we now call the third world. I've not seen the music,. it would be best sung i n F major, beginning on middle C, used a lot of major sixths.

On the darkest side of the road,
Where the sick and wounded lie,
They’re calling for help and for mercy,
Oh how can you pass them by?
The savior asks your love,
In the service of want and pain
And anything more that thou spenders,
He’ll pay when He comes again.
