Looking for the rest of the Lyrics from 70's album. Group[ would be nice too.
Lyrics:
Wiping ashes from my face. Sweeping Dreams from the fireplace.
Then a Prince came into view. Not fairy tales but very true.

Fairy Tales are we Wishes do come True
Fantasy won't steal What I found in you.
Morning Star it seems By your silver beams
You have given me Cinderella's Dream . . . . . . .

Not sure if this is what you were looking for. It's by Steven Curtis Chapman.....

Cinderella

She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders

It's been a long day
And there's still work to do
She's pulling at me
Saying "Dad, I need you

There's a ball at the castle
And I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone...

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

She will be gone

Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

Cinderella's Dream by Silverwind

Wiping ashes from my face,
Sweeping dreams in the fireplace,
Then I saw the Morning star,
Made a wish, now here you are,
Miracles came in with you,
Not make believe but very true.

Fairy tales are real,
Wishes do come true,
Fantasies won't steal,
What I've found in you,
Morning Star I see,
By the the (silvery?)
You have given me Cinderella's dream

Cinderella's Dream by Silverwind (from the album A Song In the Night -- 1982)

In a house made out of stone
By the window all alone
Wiping ashes from my face,
Sweeping dreams from the fireplace,
Then I saw the Morning star,
Made a wish, now here you are,
Miracles came in with you,
Not make believe but very true.

Fairy tales are real,
Wishes do come true,
Fantasies won't steal,
What I've found in you,
Morning Star I see,
By your silvery?)
You have given me Cinderella's dream

Beauty came from ashes dear
Diamond crown from silent tears
The Prince of Peace has won my heart
Now the happy ending starts!

Fairy tales are real,
Wishes do come true,
Fantasies won't steal,
What I've found in you,
Morning Star I see,
By your silvery?)
You have given me Cinderella's dream

Thank you for posting the lyrics and the artist (Silverwind). I found it was the album I had. I woke up with only one line in my head - My Cinderella dream.

Also Beauty cam from ashes "dear" is: "here"
Thanks again for posting

This is such a beautiful song by Silverwind. Here is our version of it: simplified but prayerfully close enough to the original for you to enjoy. Blessings, Shannon A. https://youtu.be/BQY2zcrMYcM

Slight adjustment:

Morning star I see
By your silver beam
You have given me
Cinderella's Dream.

I grew up with my mother and father singing this together while my dad played guitar.
Just beautiful.

Thanks for letting me know where it came from! I don't think they could remember anymore. It came out the year I was born, apparently! :)
