he is coming

I have watched the tender halo in the rosey tinted west at twilight when the evening shadows fall.
I have felt the sweet caresses of a presence all unseen and listening, I can hear my Master call.
O, I'm longing for His coming everyday, I 'm longing more; and I wonder why He tarries O so long, but I think each glorious morning and in every twilight gloom that He whispers: "Yes, I'm coming, coming soon."

This is such a beautiful song. My parents used to singing around the house. They are both in the glory with Him, but I know that He is coming soon and I long for Him.

It has been years since I heard this song. Seeing the sunset this evening in "the rosy tinted west", made me think of part of this song. My wife and I came up with a few phrases and thus caused a search for the song lyrics. Thank you for above lyrics!

Did this song have only one verse or were (was) there more?

I believe there is another verse. I'm not sure of the exact first phrase words-No more sadness (sorrow?), no more crying, no more pain(?) and no more dying. . . He will appear. That's all I can remember of that verse.

I heard a choir sing this when I was a teenager, and Here's what I remember:
I am longing for His coming; every day I'm longing more
And I wonder why He tarries, oh, so long
But I think each glorious morning and in every twilight gloom
I hear Him whisper, "Yes, I'm coming, coming soon!"

We've watched the eastern sky with tears in our eyes
We've worked and we've longed every day
We have left all behind with just one prayer in mind,
"King Jesus, come take us away!:

He's Coming Soon

I have watched the tender halo in the rosey tinted west. In the twilight when the lengthened shadows fall.
I have felt the tender sweetness of a presence all unseen, and a listening, I have heard the Master call.

Oh, I'm longing for His coming, everyday I 'm longing more; and I wonder why He tarries oh so long, but I think each glorious morning and in every twilight gloom that He whispers: "Yes, I'm coming, coming soon."

No more weeping, no more sighing, no more pain, and no more dying. But to those who look for him shall he appear.
And I hear him softly whisper in the stillness of the night. Be ye ready for my coming draweth near.

O, I'm longing for His coming, everyday I 'm longing more; and I wonder why He tarries O so long, for I think each glorious morning and in every twilight gloom that He whispers: "Yes, I'm coming, coming soon."

He's coming soon, He's coming soon. With joy we welcome his returning. It may be morn. It may be night or noon. We know He's coming soon.

Thanks for the words. I would REALLY like to find an audio recording of this. Any suggestions? Here are the words as I have them,
COMING SOON

1. I HAVE WATCHED THE TENDER HALO
IN THE ROSY TINTED WEST
IN THE TWILIGHT WHEN THE
LENGTHENED SHADOWS FALL.
I HAVE FELT THE TENDER SWEETNESS
OF A PRESENCE ALL UNSEEN,
AND LISTENING I HAVE HEARD
THE MASTER CALL.

OH I’M LONGING FOR HIS COMING,
EVERY DAY I’M LONGING MORE
AND I WONDER WHY HE
TARRIES OH SO LONG.
FOR I THINK EACH
GLORIOUS MORNING,
AND IN EVERY TWILIGHT GLOOM,
THAT HE WHISPERS, “YES, I’M COMING. COMING SOON.”

2. I HAVE GAZED FROM LOFTY MOUNTAINS IN THE DAWN DUSK, THRO’ THE RAIN.
WITH A LONGING THAT NO TONGUE
CAN EVER FRAME.
AND I WAITED – FOR I WONDERED IN
THE HUSH OF PURPLE DAWN,
IF HE’D BURST THE COULDS AND
COME TO EARTH AGAIN.

(COMING SOON)

3. OH WHAT MATTER WHEN THE HOUR
OR THE SEASON OF THE YEAR.
WHETHER EARLY DAWN OR IN THE
GENTLE GLOOM.
WHEN HE COMES I KNOW THE SORROW
AND THE ANGUISHED NATIONS TEARS,
WILL ALL VANISH LIKE THE VAPOR
IN THE SUN

4. NO MORE WEEPING, NO MORE CRYING,
NO MORE PAIN AND NO MORE DYING,
BUT TO THOSE WHO LOOK FOR HIM
WILL HE APPEAR.
AND I HEAR HIM SOFTLY WHISPER IN
THE STILLNESS OF THE NIGHT,
“BE YE READY, FOR MY COMING DRAWETH NEAR.”

OH I’M LONGING FOR HIS COMING,
EVERY DAY I’M LONGING MORE
AND I WONDER WHY HE
TARRIES OH SO LONG.
FOR I THINK EACH
GLORIOUS MO RNING,
AND IN EVERY TWILIGHT GLOOM,
THAT HE WHISPERS, “YES, I’M COMING, COMING SOON.”`
