I am also looking to find out who wrote this song. thinking it may have been the Slaughters but haven't found anything to confirm this

The song was written by an evangelist who's last name was Baer, he was related to Rev. Robert Baer (the walking bible).
I think he came from Dawson Springs Kentucky...
