ninety -nine (little lamb), looking for lyrics

Post by leonil7 » Fri Sep 23, 2011 6:19 am

im looking for the complete lyrics of this song. don't even know its title. i heard it on a tattered tape recording sang on a church, but it's lyrics stayed with me but not complete. it goes like this:

hey little lamb, did you mean to stray
or did you just slowly wonder 'till you've lost your way
are you afraid that i wont come to your rescue
but to me you're very special, the flock is not complete without you

i will leave the ninety and nine
i will climb upon the highest ??? of the mountain
i know where you are, i hear you calling my name
nothing can stop me now, 'till you're back in the fold once again.

etc.. (forgot the other stanzas)

Well Leonil7, This happens to be one of my also favorite songs and I know the title of this as Ninety and Nine sung by Reba Rambo when I first heard it. the one line that you have a question mark by is the word cliff of the mountain.
The next verse goes: I'll pick you up kiss away your tears, hold you close carry you back to the ??? and the other lambs will sing a welcome song and with my own hands I'll feed you an once again you'll be made strong, and then the I will leave the ninety and nine and that's how it ends. The word I cant remember I though was the body field but I'm not sure. I would try to find Reba Rambo's version and I hope you do and lets enjoy the song together. God Bless.

hey little lamb, did you mean to stray?
or did you just slowly wonder 'till you lost your way ?
now you say that I wont come to your rescue,
but to me you're very special, the flock is not complete without you.

I would leave the ninety and nine,
I would climb upon the highest cleft of the mountain.
I know where you are, I hear you calling my name.
nothing can stop me now, 'till you're back in the fold once again..

I'll lift you up, kiss away your tears, hold you close and carry you back to the valley fields. and the other lambs will sing a welcome song my own hands will feed you an once again you'll be very strong,

I would leave the ninety and nine,
I would climb upon the highest cleft of the mountain.
I know where you are, I hear you calling my name.
nothing can stop me now, 'till you're back in the fold once again.

'till you're back in the fold, until I can hold you.
'till you're back,
'till you're back, in the fold once again.

The correct title is "Shepherd's Song".

And with my own hands I'll feed you and once again you'll be made strong.
I was literally singing this song this morning. Have always loved it.

Used to have a Reba Rambo tape when I was way younger. I also love the one, "Somewhere over the rainbow."

Geez this brings back memories. I'm looking for the music for this "Ninety and Nine." Chords or tabs doesn't matter.
