A Beautiful Rose

Post by Guest82 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 7:17 pm

My grandmother just passed away and she requested that a song called A Beautiful Rose be played at her funeral.. She never got to tell us the lyrics or anything about this song. We do think that this is an old hymn though. If at all possible can someone please help me with the singer, writer, or where I can find this song!

Could this be the same song?

The Beautiful Rose
It was there at Golgotha, a place of a skull
Between two rugged thorns, a rose bloomed so full
And withered that evening, was laid in a tomb
But on the third morning, again this rose bloomed

Ch. He blooms in the desert, where nothing grows
He blooms in the valley, this beautiful rose
He blooms on a mountain that rises so high
And forever He's blooming, for me in the sky.

I've never owned treasures, like diamonds or gold
I have no earthly mansions down here to bestow
But the treasures Jesus gave me, no money can buy
For He gave me salvation and a home in the sky
