Like a runner standing on the block listening for the gun......to make his fastest run......to cross the finish line.

I can make it my faith can take it cause I've got heaven on my mind. I can do it. I'll make it through it...til I cross the finish line.

Then the second verse talks about how I've never seen the streets of gold, walls of pearl, or celestial waterfalls....

Verse 1:
Like a runner standing on the blocks,
Listening for the Gun.
Demanding all hid bodies strength,
To make his greatest run.
I’m concentrating on the need,
To run my fastest time.
I’m stretching toward the foremost goal,
To cross the finish line.

Chorus:
I can make it.
My faith can take it.
Cause I’ve got heaven on my mind.
(He’s gonna) Take me through it.
Yes I can do it.
(Gonna) Keep the faith until I cross the finish line.

Verse 2:
I’ve never seen that golden street,
Or the solid jasper walls.
There’s a free of life, a gate of pearl,
Celestial waterfalls.
My highest hopes, my fondest dreams,
Their locked in chains of time.
But times gonna be dissolving
When we cross the finish line.
