This is what I remember:

"I can almost see the lights of that city. I see them standing all around the Great White Throne. Through faith in my Savior, and His wonderful love, I can almost see the lights of home."

Haven't heard it since I was a child. I believe this is the chorus.

I can almost see the lights of that city.

Meg Ithink this is the song you are looking for. May God bless you. Billy

I CAN ALMOST SEE THE LIGHTS OF HOME

I

JOHN TELLS OF A CITY THAT HE SAW COMING DOWN
WHERE NO SORROW OR DEATH WILL E'ER BE KNOWN.
THAT SOME DAY WE WOULD GO THERE THROUGH GOD'S
MARVELOUS GRACE.
FOREVER LIVE IN THAT HEAVENLY HOME.

II

THEN SOME TIMES WHEN I'M BURDENED AND ME CROSS IS HARD
TO BEAR AND OLD SATAN HE TRIED TO DIM MY VIEW.
I JUST LOOK UP TO JESUS HE IS STANDING CLOSE BY
AND ONCE AGAIN HIS GREAT LIGHT SHINES THROUGH.

CHORUS

OH I CAN ALMOST SEE THE LIGHTS OF THAT CITY
I SEE THEM GATHERING ALL AROUND THE GREAT WIDE THRONE.
THROUGH FAITH IN MY SAVIOR AND HIS WONDERFUL LOVE.
OH I CAN ALMOST SEE THE LIGHTS OF HOME.

I can almost see the lights of that city.
