Can anyone identify these hymns by tune?

This is where you can post a request for a hymn search (to post a new request, simply click on the words "Hymn Lyrics Search Requests" and scroll down until you see "Post a New Topic").

Can anyone identify these hymns by tune?

Post by Dan just Dan » Wed May 10, 2023 2:15 am

I see that the forum says "lyrics" search, but I was wondering if I can also upload a tune and see if anyone here can identify it.
Attached are two simple tunes which are all I know of the hymns.

Hi Nancy,
I heard both these hymns in traditional, independent fundamental baptist churches. I heard hymn 1 probably in the early 90s, let's just say 1990. I went to a church called Granite State Baptist Church. I could go back and ask them, but the pastor left years ago and was replaced by someone else who changed the name to Granite United. He also turned it into contemporary church that did away with the hymns.
And I heard hymn 2 in another church recently, Faithful Word Baptist Church, probably in 2021. Watched one of their videos online and the church sang this song once, but I've never heard them sing it since. Tried searching through their videos but the pastor has uploaded many videos and I've found that to be as hard to find as searching for a single book in a library. It's taking a while.
As for the genre, I'm not sure if there are different kinds of hymns; I just call them all "hymns".
And that's all I know.

Thanks for that info Dan,

The first hymn is familiar but I can't recall it without a few more notes.
Perhaps my brain will kick in and I'll remember.
I the meanwhile someone else might get it and that will be wonderful.

Thanks for trying.

I know it's not much to go on. No pressure.
