Have searched all hymnsites to no avail goes to tune of Chariots of Fire

Here are the lyrics to a song called "Make me a chariot of fire" that I found on a couple sites.

I rise to worship, I stand to acclaim;
the King of all glory, Christ Jesus His Name.

I ask you, Lord Jesus, fulfull this desire;
Ignite me and make me a chariot of fire.

Come ride on my life, Lord Jesus Christ;
My King and my master, come ride on my life
To this one goal I wholly aspire

Come rule in my heart, Lord Jesus Christ;
My King and my master, come ride on my life
And I will be a chariot of fire.

The music, of course, was composed by Vangelis for the 1981 film "Chariots of Fire". Based on the wording and the lack of many sources about this hymn, I'd guess these are probably lyrics that were "home-grown", and then spread around to different churches and worship groups.

Hi Steve. Thanks for posting the words. A little history. Right after the film came out my wife and I attended a Christian camp where Pastor Jack Hayford was giving a week long teaching along with another Pastor who was a friend, Rick Howard. Pastor Hayford had seen the movie and inspired by that wrote these words. A few months later Rick Howard told us that Jack had asked permission from the copyright holders of Vangelis to use the tune and it was rejected so he asked that his words not be used due to copyright infringement. However, my wife and I still sing the lyrics in our hearts.

very true ..aspiring words indeed. classic yet makes miracles to the very new generation.

My grandmother taught me these lyrics nearly 40 years ago:

We come before Him,
