Hymn Lyrics Search - Name That Hymn

I grew up in a Dutch Reformed church in Poughkeepsie, NY and remember a hymn that began, Down through the city streets the Lord Christ came, crowds thronged to greet him on this happy morning (close enough!). LOTS of Hosannas in it, refrain ends with Bless Him who cometh to bring us Salvation.

For some reason, I remember it was simply titled...like The Palms.

Hopefully this will ring a bell with someone?

It is called "The Palms" I have a copy of it in one of my old church hymnals. I'll pick it up tonight at church and enter the lyrics tomorrow.

The chorus is as follows:
Not my will, but thine be done- prayed Jesus
May the same prayer be mine every day
As I walk ___ ___ ___
Hold my hand, lest I falter
Guide my steps __ ___ ___ lest I stray

Name? lyrics? writer?
Thanks

Happy Easter

The Palms

O'er all the way green palms and blossoms gay
Are strewn this day in festive preparation,
Where Jesus comes to wipe our tears away;
E'en now the throng to welcome Him prepare.

Join, sing His name divine,
Let ev'ry voice resound with united acclamation,
Hosanna! Praised be the Lord,
Bless Him who cometh to bring us salvation.

His word goes forth and people by its might
Once more their freedom gain from degradation;
Humanity doth give to each his right,
While those in darkness find restored the light.

Join, sing His name divine,
Let ev'ry voice resound with united acclamation,
Hosanna! Praised be the Lord,
Bless Him who cometh to bring us salvation.

Sing and rejoice. O blest Jerusalem,
Of all thy songs sing the emancipation;
Through boundless love, the Christ of Bethlehem
Brings forth the hope to thee forevermore.

Join, sing His name divine,
Let ev'ry voice resound with united acclamation,
Hosanna! Praised be the Lord,
Bless Him who cometh to bring us salvation.
