As the deer

I believe the first lines of the hymn I'm looking for are:

As the deer draws to the water, my heart draws near to you.

Any ideas on this one? It's an oldie I know.

As the deer

I don't know one with the words you describe, but this one is similar. Could be what you are after.

God bless
Caleb

As the deer pants for the water
So my soul longs after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You.

CHORUS
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire,
And I long to worship You.

You're my friend and You are my brother,
Even though You are my King
I love you more than any other,
So much more than anything.

I want You more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy-giver,
And the apple of my eye.
