Born to Die
A gentleman at my church asked me if I knew this song and sadly I had to tell him no, but I would look for it and learn it. I found a Sister Opal singing it on youtube but I can't make out all she is saying. Does someone know this song and if so would you please post it for me?

I made out this much of the first verse. He came to earth, a promise to fulfill. ...... He bore a cross up Calvary's hill. ................................... Born to die that I might live.

Thank you for any help with this song!!

Born to Die So I Might Live by *Pyr0n0id on deviantART

A child was born-- years ago
who was given the name Emmanuel
and on this horrid, unholy land,
that precious child came to dwell.
Today-- that day is romanticized
as happy families-- opinionized,
smile at that smiling babe
and sing about His precious name.

What they fail-- to clearly see--
is that young child's destiny.
If, of which, they were to think,
their hearts-- would quickly sink--
as they see that babe-- one day a man,
hung on a tree, the victim of-- the Father's plan.
Unlike most men, He was not born simply.
His death was not routine.
Unlike most men, He was born-- to die
so that all other men
may live.

I remember part of one I sang many years ago but all I can remember is the tune and the words your looking for...

Maybe this is it...I don't know if this is all the words, but it might be a start
Born to die on Calvary, Jesus suffered my sin to forgive,
Born to die on Calvary, He was wounded that I might live.
On the night Christ was born, just before break of morn, as the stars in the sky were faiding
Or the place where he lay fell a shadow cold and grey of a cross that would humble a king.

Here's the link of the writer singing it, it is down the page just click "Born to Die"

this is the 1st verse, I'm looking for the 2nd.
He came to earth, a promise to fullfill.
A rugged cross, he bore on calvery's hill.
Between to thieves, he bowed his head and he cried.
It's finished now... I came to die.

Chourus:
Born to die, a cruel cross to bear.
He was born to die, that I his love may share.
Born to die, his precious life to give.
Born to die, that I might live.

Here's the 2nd verse.

Accused of sin, yet silent he remained
No one came forth, to witness for his name
Between two thieves, he bowed his head and he cried
"Tis finished now, I came to die"

I think the one you are looking for is different than the one Ron Hamilton wrote. Try looking up on youtube "Born to die by the Happy Goodmans." Hope this helps.

He came to earth, a promise to fulfill
A rugged cross, he bore up Calvary's hill.
and for my sins he cried Father forgive
Born to die, that I might live.

(Chorus)
Born to die, a cruel cross to bear
Born to die, that I His love may share,
He was born die, His precious life to give
Born to die, That I might live.

He was accused of sin, yet silent he remained
no one came forth to witness for
His name
Between two thieves he bowed his head and cried
Tis finished now I came to die.
