and he's just the same. praise his holy name
standing somewhere in the shadows you can find him
and you'll know him by the nail prints in his hands

I found it for you. good song.

Chorus
Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus He's the only one who cares and understands.
Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him and you'll know Him by the nail prints in his hand

Verse. 1
In this old world it rumbles around you and everything goes wrong and the shadows of your past reappear just remember that Jesus loves you and He cares for His own. Just trust in Him when hope is almost gone

Repeat Chorus.

Verse. 2
Well that prophet David stood and said yea the long walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for Thou art with me. You comfort me and surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. I'll go live in the house of the Lord forever

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus.

This is the way I have heard it, Hope this helps, God Bless!

Standing Somewhere In The Shadows

(chorus)
Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus
he's the only one who cares an understands
standing somewhere in the shadows you will find him
and you'll know him by the nail prints in his hands

(1.)
When the world is crumbling round you
and everything goes wrong
and it seems like theres no use to carry on
just remember Jesus love you
and cares for his own
so trust in him when hope is almost gone.

(2.)
when satan comes to tempt you
and tries to make you doubt
the Lord is near to hold you by the hand
with loving arms around you
he'll gently lead you out
he'll strengthen you
he'll give you grace to stand

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus.

the way my grandfather sang it in '52

Are your crosses too heavy to carry;
And burdens too heavy to bear?
Are there heartaches and tears and anguish;
And there's no one who seems to care?

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus,
He's the Friend who always cares and understands.
Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him
And you'll know Him by the nail prints in His hands.

Are there shadows of deep disappointment,
And trusts that have proven untrue?
Has the darkness of night settled round you
Has your hope and your faith wavered too?

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus,
He's the Friend who always cares and understands.
Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him
And you'll know Him by the nail prints in His hands.

Has the storm over shadowed your sunshine,
And life lost attraction for you?
Have the dreams that you cherished been broken,
Is you soul filled with bitterness too?

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus,
He's the Friend who always cares and understands.
Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus.

I am 62 years old and was raised in a missionary Baptist church. My dad sang in a quartet, and I heard all kinds of old gospel songs. I had never heard this song until I attended the funeral of a 91 year old lady yesterday. I was assuming it was a new song until I did my research. Very simple but beautiful song.

It was written by my grandfather, E.J. Rollings. He passed in 1974. I'm happy to see so many people have been touched by it.
