It may not be the song you're looking for but in the mid-70's, there was a southern gospel group (i don't remember the name) who released a song with the lyrics/chorus, "Every Bridge is Burned Behind Me". Sadly, I wasn't into that kind of music back then and details for many songs of that time are fuzzy. Sure hope you find it!
