I am not sure of the name of this hymn but some of the lyrics are .."the three holy women at break of day, went to the tomb where the Savior lay, there stood an angel all clad in white he told the seekers put off your fright"
It is slow in tempo like a ballad.

Thanks for any help!

Three Holy Women is the name of the beautiful hymn.

The three holy women at break of day, Alleluia, Alleluia.
Went to the tomb where the Savior lay, Alleluia, Alleluia
There stood an angel, all clad in white,
who told the seekers "put off your fright"
For Jesus has risen as He had said, Alleluia, Alleluia

The three holy women then left the tomb, Alleluia, Alleluia.
They breathlessly hastened to the upper room. Alleluia, Alleluia
All through the way, resounded the cry,
Jesus our Lord has Risen on High..
So Christians rejoice, raise your hearts and voice, Alleluia, Alleluia
ALLELUIA!
I am having such a hard time finding this music. We sang it every Easter, and I know I have it somewhere here, but I wanted to hear it recorded!

Thank you so much for this. We sang it in the fifties when I was in grade school. I remember it was the favorite Easter song of my brother and me. My mother was astounded that we should pick such a slow song in a minor key.
