Hymn Lyrics Search - Name That Hymn

I know the song and I know the lyrics but I can't find this particular song and learn who wrote it or sung it. I have it on tape by a friend who sung it, but she is no longer around to ask. The beginning of the song goes like this.
Their steps were slow, their heads hung low, as they walked along alone Emaeus road. Then a man appeared, and as he drew near, he asked why are you so sad, are things really that bad. the song is "It was me" and Michael Combs sing it. Don't know who wrote it, maybe he did. but this is a start anyway!
