I'm looking for the complete song... On the other side of Jordan.

Chorus:
I'm waiting in the shadows for that shining angel band, that will come and take me home to that land.
On the other side of Jordan they are waiting there I know and I'm ready Lord I'm ready now to go.

I believe these are the lyrics:

I'll Meet You on the Other Side of Jordan

1.
I know I've never met the man who gave His life for me,
Yet His presence daily I can feel.
But if by chance you're taken home before it comes my time,
Please take this message home to Him for me.

Chorus
I'll meet you on the other side of Jordan,
With friends and loved ones we will ever be.
I'll meet you on the other side of Jordan
And we'll spend all eternity.

2.
Although our names are different, we're all purchased by His blood.
Through Jesus Christ we're one big family,
So at that big homecoming when God's children will be there,
Search that banquet table there for me.

3.
I saw the old man standing by a casket draped in black
"For fifty years it's been just you and me."
And as the preacher spoke these words "To dust we shall return",
I heard that old man speaking tenderly.

God bless,
Steve

the Singing Cookes sing a song called On the Other Side of Jordan. My dad and I are singing it in church today. We had bits and pieces of the song and would sing it as we knew it. (I think we have some of the lines in the wrong verse, and I think there are actually 3 verses instead of the 2 we sing.) We finally got the cassette, wrote the words down then lost the tape and the words. Here are the words as we sing it,so we continue to sing it as follows:

On the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that crystal stream
There's a mansion in that city
Awaiting me
I'll possess it on that morning
When I rise to sleep no more
I'll be resting on that Halleleujah shore

(Chorus)
I'm waiting in the shadow for that shining angel band
That will come and take me home to that land
On the other side of Jordan
They are waiting there I know
And I'm ready, Lord, I'm ready now to go

On the other side of Jordan
I have friends I long to see
There are loved ones in that city
Waiting me
I'll go walking thru the garden
With that Man of Galilee
Who's the Master of that troubled stormy sea

ok.. i found the cd while cleaning out some drawers. here are the words as the singing cookes sing it:
On the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that shining strand
I'll be resting in the beauty of that land
I'll go walking thru the garden
With that Man of Galilee
Who's the Master of that troubled stormy sea

Chorus is as we had it

On the other side of Jordan
I have friends I long to see
I have loved ones in that city
There waiting me
They are resting from their labors
They are free from all their cares
They are parted from the burdens of the years

sorry for all the confusion with the words, but these are as they are sung on the cd. debbie
